Soooooo how is a 2004 Impreza a concern but not 2002? They used the same steering wheel - did they really use a different airbag? Yes I know the stripe around the MOMO is red in '04 versus yellow in '02-'03 but same otherwise. I always thought my car was trying to kill me, but not literally.

General Motors: undetermined total number of potentially affected vehicles
2003 – 2005 Pontiac Vibe
2005 – Saab 9-2X
Oh damn, that does indeed suck. I owned 2x SAAB 9-5 Aeros in 2011 when they went bankrupt. It was hard enough to find parts and such back then but the last dealer I knew about shut down a while ago.

You should be okay with the Pontoyotiac tho as a friend has a G8 GXP and has no problems getting it taken care of. I will ask him where he takes it.

To answer your question about the different airbags, Yes, some cars did come with different company airbags. I know for a fact Honda does. I don't remember off the top of my head what the other company was... Some cars that were affected only needed to replace one or the other while others had to replace both drivers and passenger.

BTW if anyone needs Honda parts, let me know

The warm weather thing is BULL****. If you get into an accident and you have the bad airbag, it can kill you.

Subaru is REALLY dropping the ball here for a company that promotes safety

Wow....

My car was part of the recall (from Hawaii.) I can't wait to see the face on the service writer when I bring the sti in. Thankfully I know the writer at the dealership! Haha.... regardless, seems like SOA needs to broaden their recall a lil bit.

Look what I got in the mail today!! HELLS Yes. Original owner of my car lived in Houston, so I guess that was close enough to the Gulf Coast to warrant my recall notice. Now to setup a recall appointment with the local clueless GM dealer. This should be fun.

Haha that's basically exactly what I'm getting with the people at their service desk. I've been trying since Thursday to get an answer on whether or not they have the parts and when I can schedule the appointment. The chicks answering the phone just keep saying they need to talk with the 1 Saab trained technician they have on staff. Still waiting on a call back... Something tells me I'm the first Saabaru coming to them for this recall. ha.

Almost 2 months later and I'll finally be able to get this taken care of since the part came in today. Working with this GM dealership has been a serious headache though.

I saw this too! Insane! The VIN recall checker hasn't worked for me. I'm going to periodically check it as I'm sure they're still gathering information.
