messed up thing happended to my friend 05

his driver rear end link snapped! we thought it was just his springs because it for an 04 but fit the 05. but when i jacked it up today. we saw his sway was rubbing on the rear latteral links. almost eat right through them. then under futher inspection. we saw the broken end link. damn. could it be from a pot hole or just hard driving. the end links look really thin too with bad welds. imma post a pic soon. to show everyone. hmmm. man makes me wonder about the quality. i mean for an sti thats pretty pathitic if you ask me. anyone else have such a problem?

Same thing happened to me. the passenger side snapped and the driver side was U- shaped. This was with the stock bar. Not to mention 1 track and about 20 auto-x sessions. No big deal, it happens.
Gave me the excuse to upgrade my rear bar and endlinks.
I knew a guy who made a warranty claim and had them replaced. It did take a lot to convince the dealer he wasen't driving hard.
How were you driving the car? That would explain why they broke.

They should replace the endlinks under warranty no matter how hard you're driving. What if you're in an emergency and you have to swerve to avoid an accident. *SNAP* there goes my endlink on my $30,000 Rallly Car. They should replacae the link as well.

Can't quite remember. Think it was a loud crack with a clunk.
I do remember the car vibrated, and then car handled like a tuna boat.
(It was durring a auto-x).
The noise might be the shocks, the pot-holes could be causing the clunking.
Take a look under the car. You can easily tell if it broke

my friend complaned about clunking noise too. he thought it was the spring popping in and out. and the ride height was off in the rear. one side would sit higher.
