test drove rsx-s and wrx i feel the acura is faster

i test drove the 2005 acura rsx type S and i really liked it, good price, great suspension! and it pulls really strong. i just test drove the wrx, and i have to say the suspension is better on the rsx. also the rsx feels faster in the acceleration, maybe its just the high rpm. what do u guys think about this? im buying either of these cars pretty soon.

I test drove 3 cars before buying a car. I drove an SRT-4, RSX-S and WRX all being an 05. I love the SRT-4's raw sound and power. The RSX-S was a timid little car, you have to get up high RPM's before getting the true potential, and I didn't like that idea. The WRX was the perfect one for me, because the power deliverance and acceleration was almost instantaneous.

The RSX-S interior was nice, that's a brownie point I couldn't pass up. But the performance was a little too timid that I can't really appreciate its performance. Overall, it's a nice car, but not meeting the adrenaline rush I'm having as for the time being.

you probably thought the rsx s was faster because when the wrx is not broken in(<1000miles), then there is a lot of turbo lag. after the break-in, it's not as big. i drove my friend's wrx and it seemed faster than the 04 I test drove that had only 7 miles on it. good luck.

turbo lag contd.

if you've never driven a turbo before, it takes a while to learn how to get the most out of the car, and keep it in the performance range where the turbo is pulling. With the Turbo, WRX is 30 ponies up on RSX, W/o, it's probably 50 down.
As far as the suspension... that's a matter of preference.
WRX is more versatile. More people space, more cargo space (5 door), more capability (AWD). RSX looks better. Easy decision for most of us here, but Acura sells a lot of RSX's

I saw you decided on the WRX. Good Call. My buddy who has worked for acura since 86-87 said he'd pick the WRX hands down as well.

As far as turbo lag, how about Vtec lag! Tell me one VTEC motor that has punch down low???

The WRX is a good car, and it's much more versatile. If you ever want to carry stuff in it, consider the wagon.

test drive all of them in the rain. then give us another opinion.
at 217 lb ft of torque i think the wrx should feel better at lower rpms too
hondas/acuras generally have a stiffer suspension feel.

Well, what do you want? When I was car shopping my limit was below 30k, I wanted an awd turbo sedan. So my choices we're evo rs (good luck finding one) and a wrx, the wife didn't like the fact that the evo didn't have ac or power windows... so the choice was obvious. To me, you can't even put an rsx in the same category. Fwd, 2 door and that annoying honda fart when coupled with a aftermarket exhaust. Plus If you're an enthusiast, and intend on any modification at all you're almost certain to fall into the ricer category. Go with what you like, It's your car.

whether or not it's broken in, it shouldn't affect "turbo lag"

The cats do =], oh yea, and the rpm you are in.

eh RSX Type-S vs WRX, hands down WRX. My friends type-s I think is honestly boring, try driving it around regularly, its just another honda, no fun factor. wanna have fun and potential? get a wrx

what happened to your rx8 debate anyway?

PS- this is coming from an ex accord v6 owner, hondas for some reason just all feel the same to me, boring. i just can't get enough of the wrx

The type-s might've seemed fun because of the high rev factor, but trust me it gets boring fast

i had an RSX-s, did the Club RSX thing, dumped a lot of money into mods...whole 9 yards. The whole time I was wishing for turbo and AWD. Two different types of car and two different types of forums. I am happier and I sleep better.
