^^ditto. i had my little "cheat sheet" with me too so as to not hold up the already long line. i stuck with all my original decisions except with our commander and chief. while i was reviewing my ballot something in me told me to change my decision. after months of leaning towards my party i went the other way. i guess we'll see if the majority of the voting citizens feel the same way and if it was the better decision.

chelsea, you have to let me know how it turned out for your guys in pleasant hill.

Nader wasn't on my ballot, but a bunch of presidential candidates I've never heard of made it. How does that work?

You promise?! SWEET! I'd prefer a 200+HP natural gas motor, or a 200+ hydrogen motor, etc. Do you like our dependance on foreign oil? Do you like pollution?

And yes, he is on the CA ballot, so it wasn't write-in...

Actually, this is one thing I liked about Gore, and maybe Kerry will be a man and help too. The technology exists to get us off foreign oil for the most part, though it will probably cramp our style short-term. I'm just ventilating because people have no clue what they are going to get with Kerry.

Some environmental legislation that the "tree huggers" put in is straight-up BS, though. They closed a local jogging trail for the endangered marshland rat.
I do honestly hope Kerry makes some real progress IF he gets in there. Can you imagine the budget crisis that would result if we found a cheap alternate source of energy? How would they make up the resulting budget shortfall, since gas prices reflect enormous taxes?

Remember, Kerry does not own an S.U.V. According to him, it belongs to his family =).

I'm surprised to see Kerry taking such a lead on BAIC. Most of you gun toting anti-environmentalists do the most political shouting. Goes to show, I guess you can't figure the majority by who has the biggest mouth ;)

Bush has been pretty radical so far, I hate to think what another 4 years of those guys would do to us.

Scariest thing is that he doesn't have to run for a re-election if he wins... so his goonies behind the scenes can make him do whatever they want. (come on, he make look dumb and talk dumb, but he's smart enough to fool a lot of people that he's right. Look at the polls, half of Americans (or the mid-west/south) think that he's the man. It's the neo-cons he works... I mean... that work for him that pull the strings.)

As for the 200+hp gas 4 banger... Hydrogen is powerful stuff, but there is yet to be a safe and non-dependent non-polluting way to mass produce it. At least toyota has proven that you can go really far power wise with the hybrid. Look at the new rx330h. Power of a v8 but 30-36mpg! At least it's a step somewhere.

What about growing our fuel with corn? :) Or the volvo system in europe where they trap the gasses produced by trash dumps and they use it to run garbage trucks and gov. employees' cars!! (same old volvos, but running on that gas.)

Ok enough rant. It's a free country. So you must eat my opinion and like it! :D j/k

Look at what the world thinks

http://www.globalvote2004.org

Nice to see what the world thinks of our leader. (granted there were only 110,000+ voters, but from all over the world.)

I also like this speech given by rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio to congress

http://homepage.mac.com/njenson/movies/timryanlow.html

Ok. I know this isn't the politics forum, but I figured the globalvote was semi relevant :D

If you guys had half a brain you'd vote in a 3rd party candidate. This 2 party system is going to destroy this country and you morons keep giving them more power. We need to reduce the size of the government. The government has way too much power and you can throw your civil liberties out the window and if you think voting Republican means less government, you're a bigger moron then those tree hugging dirt munchers. There will be prayer in schools, we'll lose a women's right to choose, and free speach will be a thing of the past. Sounds like facism to me. I rather be a communist than a neo-Nazi facist.

Vote libertarian.

I agree, a viable 3rd option would be great. The problem is that a lot of people have their mind locked into a certain way. Which is mainly the mid-west and south. (look how CA put a republican gov in mid-stream, if we want change, we'll get it.) Until we can get "main stream america" to open up their minds, maybe expose them to some culture (not in our life times) The Democrats are the strongest thing (vs republicans, not to say that they are the enemy... unless you talk about civil liberties, forcing their will upon others, yadda yadda.) for the time being. Until can unify the world as a human race (thinks of star trek) there will be religious wars, wars for power and 2 major parties in the US :) Maybe we need to find a couple of alien races so we can find something else to fight, other than each other :D

Something major will have to happen in this country for a 3rd party to get noticed. Problem is that half the people don't have half the brain, as you said :D Usually easier for people to pick between right/wrong yes/no not yes/no/maybe? (even if the maybe makes sense )
