First Driving Impressions: STi 20mm sway bar
Well i finally got my STi bar on Friday, and got to installing it about 2 hours ago. The install went very smothly, and the only problem that I ran into came when i had to shave the STi bushings to fit into the stock forester bushing holders, which i had kinda rememberd i had to do but had frogotten. The new bar is SO MUCH heavier than the old one! It really is amazing how much more beefy the new bar is.
Anywho, after installing it, I took it out on a drive which covered a few fast tighter corners, slower, tight corners, and fast slower curves, plus a few u-turns just to feel out the new handling.
Driving impressions:
*Body Roll is greatly reduced over the stock which (one) of the main reasons I did this. I can feel much less SUV feel in the corners and such.
*Oversteer: It was sort of wierd, as I felt MUCH more of this than i had ever experianced before. I definately felt the tail come out a bit on some of the faster corners.
*Over all feel: Much better, feels much more neutral in handling and responce.
Over all I am very impressed, and I think my current set up (STi 20mm bar and bushings, w/ stock forester mounts and asorted hardware) will do untill i can get some heavy duty mounts (Whiteline possibly) and endlinks so that mine do not turn into macaroni
After these are done, I will be installing USDM STi springs, doing a rear Drum->Disk conversion, and who knows what else once I have the money.
Cheers

(Please request any pics you want and I will give them to you as I took a few along the way.)

Peaty is currently organizing a group buy over at subaruforester.com for PolTec endlinks and sway bar collars, and we already have enough people signed up to qualify for a 25% discount. Good opportunity to jump in and save some $$ if you're going to look for aftermarket endlinks sooner or later.
