No performance gain but it's possible to lose power if you choose a 100% atmospheric BOV. The engine management is designed to work with recirculated air flow that the stock bypass valve provides. You can get away with a partial-atmospheric BOV, which is what most WRX/STi owners use. -- 0==WW==0 "…axles of evil…" - george w. bush whoosh 06-17-2004, 01:27 PM i have a gfb stealth and love it Jennifer 06-17-2004, 09:19 PM Worx is the best one on the market. It sounds good (very easy click settings for amount of blow off and sound) and it also looks killer! 02 WRX, 04 Sti: Double the fun BBSTi 06-22-2004, 08:21 PM GFB 50/50 bov is probably the best, either way i herd your car will back fire with turbo back exhaust Mach5WRX 07-06-2004, 01:46 PM The stock BOV netzr0 07-06-2004, 10:56 PM ^^^^^^ amen! but if you really want to smoke some $$$$ up http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57327 Egan 07-07-2004, 06:57 AM If you really must have the $200+ pssh sound, by all means get a BOV that recirculates. I ran the Worx on my modded WRX wagon and it functioned perfectly. Very nice unit and highly recommended if absolutely have to have the BOV. The 50/50 GFB I had previously caused numerous problems with sticking springs and a tendancy to blow off when it wasn't supposed to. That being said, I am running the stock bypass valve on my STi. It works perfectly and so does the rest of the engine. trey2s 07-14-2004, 04:29 PM I ran the RFL on my STi for a while, and it was all bad news, even when adjusted correctly. I had backfires at least every minute that were louder than gunshots, horribly jerky engine compression, major idle fluctuation, and stalling problems when on the freeway, just driving, and even commonly during a turn. The turns weren't fun to stall on, because your steering locks up as well as your brakes...Reaaaal safe. -_- doughboy 07-14-2004, 05:05 PM The stock BOV you will hear this again and again and again if you're looking for the BEST BOV on a stock setup (STi/WRX). Krinkov 07-16-2004, 11:46 PM The stock BOV wut he said... STiLL WILL 07-17-2004, 09:23 AM Trust me the BOV sound isn't all what it's cracked up to be. Plus, the more you vent metered air into the atmosphere, the more rich your car will run and ultimately bog between shifts. I have the Worx on my car right now, I'm just too lazy to take it off. I could have spent my $240 on something worthwhile. If you're intent on getting a BOV though, get a Worx. You car will still run rich if you vent ANY air into the atmosphere. The stock bypass valve is good enough. -Matt international B 07-17-2004, 10:39 AM The stock BOV word 1WCKDSTI 07-17-2004, 12:51 PM worx bov aznatama 07-18-2004, 01:39 AM for that pssshhhhhh sound, just run the intake silencer delete elbow... or no silencer/elbow at all. that'll give you a nice psshhhhhh sound. what I want is a hooting sound... but I'm not sure what gives that sound yet. my free mods: -remove stock STi axel-back (no muffler at all) --sounds great actually... and not really noticeable since the "tunnel" for the exahust isn't that big. -remove intake silencer --slightly better throttle response and louder pshhhhh noise =) whoosh 07-19-2004, 02:46 PM with the gfb stealth bov you can dial out the backfire as well as being able to adjust venting to atmo or back to the engine, plus my turbo spools up noticeably faster after shifts with my gfb stealth, an absolutley awsome purchase. 04 sti Nighthawk 07-20-2004, 02:16 AM So which one is louder, the Worx v1.2 or the GFB Stealth FX??? gdogg 07-20-2004, 02:21 AM Worx is the best one on the market.
