well...they're both particularly loud...performance wise is almost even...i think its all up to looks i guess...if you like the angled look or the straight look...

i myself have a Blitz...its hella loud...got me one ticket (in waikiki) and a warning (after being stopped for no front license plate)...the first ticket was only the catback...and the warning that i got was when i had my downpipe with the cat back....

I agree with .: 808 STi :. on either Blitz or HKS, if you want it loud, go with the Blitz Nur spec. I have heard it on other members cars, and at idle it sounds awesome. Ask Infek, he can tell how loud it can be. The HKS is a bit quieter compared to the Blitz.

get the hks cf/ti if you want looks and like 808sti said, get the blitz for the loudness. only downside to the hks one is that i think the piping runs pretty low to the ground and its a lot more expensive. i think at speedgear it was 900 for the hks cat-back. the blitz one is cheaper by 300 bucks i think.

Did you get the ticket because the exhaust was too loud or because you dodn't have recon for it? Just curious.

my $.02....get the cat-back w/silencer...haha its just as soft as the axle-back...the cat-back costs a little more than the axle back...its all up to how much you want to spend

hmm...if you wanna go cheap...go for "helix" brand UP/DP...but you're gonna need what we call a electrical CEL fix...PDE is a very respectable Downpipe, it has what we call a mechanical CEL fix where the O2 sensor is relocated to a different place...

but anyway...go for a downpipe with a bellmouth or twin dump design...and go for an up pipe with a flex joint...these are the best ways to go...

but all it comes down to is...how much you're willing to spend...

HPD officers are not equiped with decibel meter. You can contest this. Recon is another story.

HKS: pro's -- good power (especially torque increases), deep but not too loud sound, angled look
con's -- angled look, low to the ground, some people don't like the big tip and muffler

Blitz: pro's -- good power (especially horsepower increases), sits higher off the ground, straight look, smaller tip and can
con's -- straight look, smaller tip and can, LOUD LOUD LOUD!

Overall, I'd say go with a catback first. The Blitz Nur-Spec axleback is just for the looks and sound, no performance upgrage (except maybe slightly quicker response). Uppipe and downpipe can wait; when the time comes, Helix is a great value (fairly cheap and great fit and quality). Be careful if you go catless though: an observant cop might be able to smell a lack of cats (it stinks pretty bad).
