It is made to be plug and play for the 04, but one of my customers told me that he had to make a hole in this dust cap to let the wires from the bulb go through. While other customers told me they were able to use the kit for direct plug and play. So from my knowledge it is all plug and play and you might have to drill a small size hole in your dust cap to allow the wires to get through.

Is there any way you can writeup an association to kelvin(?) post...

...something like:
6000K looks like HID in X_CAR_Manufacturer
8000K looks like HID in Z_CAR_Manufacturer
(for instance, 6000k looks like 00+ bmw m3 stock HID lights)

I'm interested in purchasing a kit soon, but I'm having issues deciding which to get based on color/the pictures you provide.

thanks.

Hey Fibuz,
Its kind of hard to give a really accurate comparison with the kits just because they do not behave the same way as the HID kits which are used in BMWs, Acura, etc etc.
If I were to assign them to a manufacturer, I'd say the 6000K would be sort of an Acura look, because its a lighter blue color and the 8000K would look like BMW, because there is a true blue color.
The reason why it is hard to assign them is because the projectors on those cars are tinted lightly and they bend the light to turn a different color. Check out the information section on the website. It gives good tips on which kit to purchase: www.hidplace.com

Thanks
Allan

they could work, but it will void warranty on both my bulbs and your hella kit. The way to make it work would be through wire splicing, which is not always recommended unless you really know what you are doing.

Also regarding Hella, contact who you got the kit from, since REAL hella kits are hard to get because most of them come with reproduced ballasts and cheap bulbs.

They are actually the same our advantage over brightstar is that our HID Kits are Generation IV which are the newest on the market now. Not to mention Importhookup, has terrible customer service (which i was told by some of their customers) an 8000K Hi/Lo Kit is $485 Shipped.

Hi, I do not have pictures of the 6000K on JDM Projectos, but I have seen them in real life, on a customers car. Its actually a very beautiful look, just imagine a light blue/white color coming out of your projectors. Yes they are H1's.

I did post that holes would have to be drilled in the dust cap for the 04's, its just a fact of life you really cannot get around that. As for the wires needing extensions, male connectors needed and wires being spliced; that is the first I hear about that. Considering that fact that over 80% of my customers are Subaru owners and the fact that I've has a successful group buy on wrxfanatics with out any mention of such a problem.

Thank You,

2004 Install Info:

Here is the information which i got from one of my previous customers:

Yeah its not plug and play. But come on, its a pretty basic install. Heres what is not compatible...

1. You already know that the protective cap must be drilled unless you want to splice the wires, solder both ends to the inside and outside of the cap and reconnect like that, but either way its simple. I just drilled a hole and then sealed it up with some black caulk.

2. The harness from the ballast is not compatible with the 04's harness. therefore both harnesses must be cut and the wires soldered together or use male/female adapters. easy.

3. Sorry, but there is no extension wire needed, there was plenty of wire, so much that i needed to ziptie a bunch out of sight.

Daniel

Hey Daniel,
The best real way to explain it, is that it is sort of like clothing: you have your sizes; small, medium and large. You cannot put a small size on a person who wears a large and a large would be too big for a person who wears a small and so on. Also, sockets are different too, you cannot plug an H1 bulb in to a H4 socket. Usually H3 bulbs are used for foglights, H4 bulbs are usually in head lights which have one lamp which acts as a high beam and a low beam and D2S is usually for cars which came with stock HIDs.

For 02-03 JDMs you'd need an H1 Bulb, which fits in to your housing perfectly. All you would have to do is replace the bulb, plug in the wires, mount the kit and drill a hole in your dust cap to allow the wires to get through.

I hope i answered all your questions, feel free to ask any more!

Hey Jay,
Both bulbs are H1 size and yeah it is possible to get 5300K for your lows and 8000K for your highs. You would just need to order 2 kits, 1 8000K and 1 5300K. One great part about having the same size high and low beams is that you can swap lights any time you want. You can make one side 5300K and one side 8000K, pretty cool! :D

Shipping is free as always to all I-club.com members and just visit this link to order, I have both sets in stock and can get them to you in less than a week!

From the picture of the 10,000k Bulbs they look a lot like the ones installed in the 2002+ Audi's. My neighbor has an A4 and Blinds me in my Rear view mirrors whenever she pulls up behind me. Do you know what k bulbs her A4 probally has. Well anyways I think I want the 10,000k kit. I just need to round up some money, then I will be able to pull up behind her at the stop sign .. HA HA payback is a B****. .. Jk.

BTW: Have you ever seen anyone use HID's in their '04 Fog Lamps?

HaHa sounds like a plan!!
Nope, we do not have 10000K that fits in to foglight housings (h3 size), If her blind you than the 10000K will cause serious blindness. Her A4 uses 4300K lights but the projector in her headlights and the way the light is focused creates the blue/purple look, but on the road they are white. While the 10000K are an intense blue/purple color which will make the road the same color. I really only recommend 10000K for show use just because of their color. The color might be too intense for the street, and might get you some unwanted attention.

Let me know when your interested this deal is only good till the end of the month!

or

Yeah they all do fit UK models, you would need an H4 size bulb.

Many people tend not to buy the dual beam, mainly because they do not use the high beam so often. I for one have a 9007 Kit and do not have high beam capabilities. Most people who have stock headlights with an HID Kit in MY02-03 do not have high beam capabilities.

Another choice you may have is to get an HID for your fog lights which is bulb size H3, they only come in 6000K & 8000K kits.

Thanks,
Allan

This makes it sound like it's not possible to get a low-beam HID kit and keep the stock Hi-beams. Is this correct?

well in some ways its not possible, unless you have a car which uses to seperate high and low beam housings (ie: 2004 Impreza) The MY02-03 use 9007 Bulbs and 9007 HID bulbs are only single beams. The GC body uses H4 Bulbs which can be low and high beam, or just low as HIDs

Unless you have Morettes, JDMs, or other aftermarket headlights.

Feel free to e-mail me when your budget starts to florish a little, I'm pretty sure I'd still be able to pull off the same price or better.
