Car Info: 2004 Subaru STI/WRX Silver of course
Seen some sitting on the side of the road when coming back from the track tonight they were sitting off the road with no lights on..... Shouldn't they at least have their parking lights on....I was just going a little over the speed limit maybe 4-5 miles over they looked but only for a second....Them and the cops on Hickam have been having road blocks coming on base twice in the same month busted my friend last night for tint could have given him a ticket for three windows and no recon but they gave him a $97 ticket for tint...

not if they wann hide. . . i think tint is one of the major "peeves" of a cop. when u gotta pull someone over and you can't see inside the car i can see where that would suck. . . for all they know there can be a gun pointed right at em and not even know it.

Just to let you guys know, the saturation is the new recruits who finished their initial training. They have been producing alot of tags, and they will be on Ala moana/Nimitz/Beretania etc... as well as H-1 and H-2. Speeding enforcement and DUI's are top priorty. Be careful.

This sucks......I got my first ticket in the 12.5 years that I have been driving about 3 weeks ago.

How's court in Hawaii, will they let me pay the fine and not tack the points on my driver lic? Will they look at my overall driving record?.....It's super clean?????

Traffic court in HI is a joke compared to CA. My buddy got a DUI and I had to escort him to his court date and we sat there for over three hours listening to the judge let people off who had multiple offenses ranging from DUI to Child safety violations, to no insurance and anything else you can think of with the same ruling, Don't let it happen again and perform either comm. service or attend a class. Apparently there is a class on why you should put your child in a safety seat. Maybe those people that gpatmac ran into are that class right now.

what district court u gotta go? ewa? kaneohe?town? believe it or not some courts suck depending which judge u have. keep in mind that whatever notes the officer (may/may not have) wrote on the back of the ticket can make a difference in the judges decision(hopefully u were cool with the cop) my aunt is a judge and basically she says most judges are sympathetic to "first timers" as long as they appear to be humble and the violation is not that serious.- *small tip* wear a suit.

if it was speeding then when i had mine recently, the judge would not hear any of it. even if it was my first ticket ever in 4 years of driving and the fact that i wasn't the one being paced by the cop initially and he opted that since i was the "slower" and easier target, i became the one to get the ticket.

Yet they were both let off and made to go to some class, as oppossed to a fine and points.
pardon the generalization(which may not be fair) if he fined the "locals" (i am one) i'm pretty sure they wouldn't pay anyway
as with your case i'm sure the court is in confidence that they will at the least be able to make some money off of you.
although the points part does kinda suck

Go to court in uniform. Reduced fines and possible dismissal if you give explanation of your military duties as military police and near perfect record.

Changing the subject a little...

So who does and doesn't have recon? I heard it's a one time $15 fee. So why not get it? Since I never even heard of recon before I moved here, anyone care to enlighten me?
