questions about pe1820

im interested in a pe1820 for my sti.

1.will i need new injecters?

2.will it be a direct bolt-on, or will i need to move things around?

3.how much power will this support, or give me to the wheels if i have blitz sus intake, perrin downpipe, apex-i gt-spec catback, and get it tuned?

4.how long does it take a pro/noob to install a turbo?

I was told that the pe1820 would be a little small for the 2.5

They could have been wrong....but thats what I was told!!

on a 2.0L engine it hits full boost by 4500 and that would be 25psi
this turbo is the next step up from a vf34
yes you will need big injectors 800cc worth
yes it bolts in
300-375 at the wheels
i think the install time for most plp is 2-3 hours

ummm I think it is supposed to hit full boost a little sooner than that.

Also the PE1820 is NOT then next step from a vf34. you have the vf22 and pe1818 between the two.
650 cc injectors will do just fine...you dont need 800cc.
300 whp on 91 octane...yes. 375whp = with race gas

This turbo loves 19psi and more....but I believe that 20+psi will have to be more than 91 octane with this turbo

I ran my pe1818 at 19-20psi on 91 octane and it was SICK!! The 1820 turbo will do much more especially with race gas!!

ps. the pe1820 is perfect with my 6 speed....awesome on the track, NO lag.

dashiet,

I think alot of the guys with 2.5L like the Garret turbos. Also, look into 18G and 20G. Talk to Bill and Chris from I-speed...they can help you out.
