Anyone care to speculate on Praxis vs. Prodrive AST?
I'm looking to upgrade the suspension on my 02 WRX sedan, and since I use it mostly for the daily commute to work, I really like the idea of having something easily adjustable from comfort to sporty.
While expensive, both the Bridgestone Praxis air suspension system, which is already out, and the Prodrive Active Shock Technology (AST) system, which is coming soon, would address that.
Assuming that there will be an 02 version of the AST system, any thoughts on the pluses and minuses of each?
Certainly one big advantage of the Praxis system is that the ride height is adjustable by pushing a button. How big of a deal is that? Do you think a permanently lowered ride height with the AST would work well? (say, 1" lower than stock or something)
I saw a blurb on the Prodrive site that there will be an optional component on the AST that *will* allow some sort of height adjustment, though I have to assume that'll be a manual thing.
In terms of overall performance, any guesses on which one will be better?

The odds of someone spending $6000 to try both systems are lean at best. Too bad TireRack is no longer a Prodrive vendor or we could hear great comparisons directly from Dexter.
I am very, very happy with my Praxis Suspension. It is great being able to change the ride height on the fly. I keep my dampers set to the sport (middle) setting and it seems perfect for driving around town. If necessary, damper adjustments are easy.
