Please post on the EJ25 forum. I do not know of anyone here that currently runs an intake(whether cai or shorty) on their STI. The people on the EJ25 forum can answer your questions. I know at least two people who removed their resonator though so that may be the wise route.

But I would be very wary of putting an intake, which is designed for EJ20's, into an EJ25.

Hmm, I got a Blitz SUS Intake I was gonna install. Whats the issue with it?

An intake is not a "stand alone" mod, like some think it is. You'll be ok, but it will work better as a part in a overall build up.

Dave, with the SUS, I would be careful on the method you install it. You will notice there is a metal piece that acts like a "blocker" for the intake. I would experiment with it on or off. I heard stories where older SUS's will need that blocker while the newer SUS's shouldn't use that blocker but the newer ones will come with it. It may throw a CEL for you though with that intake.

That is entirely true. My Perrin short ram gave absolutely no or very minimal gains but people who have engine management that is tuned for the Perrin short ram will receive gains on it.

Ive been running with CEL since the exhaust anyways. Gotta get someone to reset it... Hmm, guess I will do a bit more research before installing it. Figured it would help with the exhaust and dp and all, but what do i know. :)

I have a 2004 STi and have the K & N Typhoon on it and it runs great! The car has a "YOU CAN FEEL IT" power increase. You dont need a dyno to tell you that, its that big a difference. No problems what so ever.

This is, ONE OF THE FEW PRODUCTS ON THE MARKET THAT REALLY WORKS ON OUR CARS!! Hell ive spent a $1000 on other things (blah) and lost HP!

The Blitz is like the screen on my front door, id be scared to death to put that thing on my car. Yes i know, i should not have said that. Im gonna get my hand slapped!
Its just an oppinion on the Blitz thing, no facts to back it up! :)

I have the K&N as well and I cen say that you will definately get a power increase. Even my well calibrated butt dyno told me that. plus it looks real cool, ya know matching and all

In many cases an aftermaket intake will cause your car to run lean. I saw one case were the guy stated that he could feel the power increase, did a dino run and infact did have a few HP gain but the A/F ratio was lean. They retuned the car to fix the lean condition and the HP was back down to stock levels.
Most STI tunners will agree that the intake is of little use until your at a MUCH higher HP level.

I don't agree.

Turbo back kicks butt, Helix down pipe and HKS carbon fiber
Perrin lightened pully is another WOW, thats incredible mod. Its was on and done in under 10 min.
Intake also ranks high.
Polished turbo is amazing as well.

Just try K&N. The typhoon was designed to mimic the stock air box air flows through the MAF. I have been running it on my car for a few weeks with no problem. Even now with Cobb stage 2.

K&N Typhoon 5000 miles, no problem. Now with full TBE and Ecutek for 1300 more miles, never a problem.
