I am close to 3000 miles... I am about 2780... I need to schedual an appointment to get the oil changed... Is this covered under warranty? Or do I pay out of pocket? What is normally checked at this mark? Do they check other fluids and or tires, wheels.. tranny? As far as a warranty goes what is normally covered, other than normal wear and tear parts?
Do I have to specify what oil to have them put in? Should I go moble 1 yet or wait till next oil change? And do they change the oil filter as well this time around?
Thanks :-)

Nothing that's considered routine maintenance or normal wear-and-tear is covered under warranty. You have to pay out of pocket. I have to ask though, is there some reason you can't change it yourself? It's extremely easy on a stock WRX. As for synthetic, I think it would be fine to switch now but others say anything up to 10,000 miles. Either one is fine, go with whatever gives you peace of mind.

I would LOVE to do this to my car, and change the oil... problem is my parents think that it's better to go to the dealer or some place else because they check the rest of the car out...? Is this true? Do they check other fluids, tire pressure...etc?
How would I go about changing the oil for my car? Do I need things in particular to do this? I do NOT have any air tools or access to a car lift... Would that be a problem? Also what type of oil to use? I want the best oil that I can put into it until I put the moble 1 in.
Thanks :-)

They don't check anything that you can't check. If you have 3,000 miles, go ahead and go with the synthetic. Your engine is as broken in as it's going to get. You don't need air tools, just a couple of sockets/screwdrivers for the plastic tray and a large wrench for the drain plug.

time and time agian people pay good money for these cars and dont look at all the hard work that went to putting the owners manual and maitance schedule books that came with the car-so many customers come in for things that they could have found out themselves just by bending the book binding alittle-its urs go ahead and do it.maybe they just wanted to stop in and see me because im such a nice guy-lol.j/k.
