Hello, would anybody be kind enough to loan me their oem wrx exhaust (cat-back) to use for a week. I recently got a fix it ticket for my Apexi GT Spec. I took off me Apexi and sold it already, so I don't have an exhaust to drive with at this time (waiting for my exhaust to arrive). Also, I need the stock exhaust to have an officer sign off my ticket as well. If some of you have doubts about me not returning it after, I can paypal you $100 for insurance purposes. Edit: So I have a funky story....yesterday, when I got off work, I walked out to my car, get in, start it up, and start to drive away....I get about half way outta the parking lot and notice a note on my windshield...so I am like "hmmmm, whats this?" So I stop, get out, and get the note, and it says "Please call me about your car. *insert phone number here*." So I get home and call the number, but there is no answer, and I didnt feel like leaving a message, (maybe I should have) anyways, so I dont know what its all about, but I am gonna try and call again today. I was given it with a part I got on my SRT-4 and I was told it doesn't work correctly. I completely dis-assembled it and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it at all. I have a WRX flange for it so all I will need to do is take your BOV off (2 bolts), install this HKS, and see if it works properly. Please let me know if anyone is willing to let me try it. The whole process will only take 10 minutes. Thanks.

Al, Charlie, and myself have been kicking around the idea of a good Tuesday night meet for all those who dont feel like driving the trek to UCKK. The thought so far is Ammatos Cheesesteaks on Saratoga Ave between 280 and Westgate mall. So far we have talked to the manager and he is really enthused about the idea of a meet, and I guess we wouldnt be the only group who would/has used them as a meeting point. The food is *awesome*, best cheesesteaks outside of Philly bar-none. I wanna gauge some interest before I go and talk with the manager about it and try and hammer something out. Anything interested? I'm down too! I wanna try one of those cheesesteaks! I would suggest starting a "guaging interest thread," so its easy for people to find info about location/time/directions, etc. Plus that way you dont have to filter out who's talking about BDG and who's talking about (Ammatos). ;)

yay, now all us young wipper snappers can learn about cars proper. but seriously as long as some of the old dudes are actually old, like 55+, they should be cool. old car guys can teach us all something about going fast, and its been my experience that as long as your not an arrogant little punk they like talking to us no matter what we drive. my gramps regularly tells me stories of my dad and him building cars back in the day. Nah, where I am going (under the hood) there isn't room for 2 sets of hands......last night while installing my new hardline......<pissed at myself for not taking my time> :( I didnt realize that the OEM hardlines use a DOUBLE FLARE, NOT A BUBBLE FLARE.....and when I went to tighten down the hardline to the ABS Control Module, I stripped the threads out of the module, AND destroyed the flare seal inside the module because I used a bubble flare not a MOTHER ****ING DOUBLE FLARE <hits himself in the head with his BIG torque wrench> GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am sooooooo ****ing pissed off at myself for not paying attention as I normally would....WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!? http://www.i-club.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gifGRRRRRRR......so to make a short ****ty story even shorter and nearly $900 later, I have a new ABS Control Module, and some VERY VALUABLE EXPERIENCE in what NOT to do......So tonight I am replacing my ABS unit, and making another NEW right front hardline with the proper flare this time......GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRR

(P.S. If it makes you feel any better, when taking of my stock DP last night, we snaped one of the studs off in the turbo....granted it still works, but man, it sucks....anyone have a stock turbo for sale? ^_^)

C'mon down Mysterymarker! people normally start showing up around 8:15-8:30 or so, I'll be driving my BIGTYRZ.....you'll know it when I pull in. ;) The suby is out of commission for awhile. :(

The stripped part is not the problem.....its the flare seal INSIDE the module that the hardline seals up against that is destroyed as well.....threads are easy to repair.....but the seal is jacked, so it will leak no matter how much you tighten the line down, and that is not something that can be repaired.....unfortuneatly, the ABS unit is still in perfect working condition with the exception of that seal....but its not safe to use since the hardline wont make a tight seal and will most definitely leak when under pressure. Basically its a big, VERY expensive paper weight now. :(

Not to mention, after I get the new unit installed I still have to take it to a Suby dealer to have the new unit calibrated.

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO :D I am happy, oh so happy!!!!! when I got home from BDG tonight, I decided to give my rear brake lines ONE MORE shot, cuz they had been soaking in Liquid Wrench penetrating oil, while I was at the meet....so anyways, I get home and tried to loosen the rear hardlines again before I headed to bed....and THEY BROKE LOOSE!!!!! WOOHOO!!!! I got my rear brake lines off!!!! OH MAN! I was seriously stressing over those....but they came loose! I just had to tell everyone, esp. after *****ing to everyone about it at BDG tonight. I feel like a huge weight just got lifted off of my shoulders...My brakes are back on track now, despite the slight setback. :) That Liquid Wrench just made it to the top of my "must have tool" list for anyone that wrenches on their own car, that isht saved my arse, best invention EVAR!

Hey I'll see you guys there tomorrow. Can someone check out a noise on my car for me? I had STI tranny/engine mounts installed and everything felt good but I thought they were loose. So I went back to Gruppe-s to have them re-tighened... but I don't think the noise is from the mounts. Whenever I start up the car after its been sitting for more than 10 min I get this rattling+buzzing noise for the first 3min of driving and its ANNOYING the HELL out of me. When I leave people probalby think I don't know how to drive a stick it sounds terrible. My tranny is still stock components and I never launch the car. So if anybody can help me find out whats wrong that'd be cool. BTW this is a 99RS. Well see you guys there :D

jeff its just the mounts the stuff your hearing is probbaly normal you sould hear the drivetrain more and im sure when its cold it makes tons of noise listen to my lol its all ishhy

My tranny fluid was changed in August and my suspension has been on the car no more than 2 months we tigntened everything with air tools. I know the noise I'm hearing isnt the mounts, ya I know its gonna vibrate but this is different.

Welp, I will be der tonight, and I am excited to say, that my brakes are officially completely installed (not bedded in yet, hopefully friday that will happen), and I am almost finished with my super secret missle launcher install, although its not completely finished yet, I have tested it out, and it works like a charm! :D

Also, my sister-in-law will be showing up tonight as well, so we can discuss a end-of-the-season BIG BBQ BASH at BDG at the end of the month.....So all you BDG ppl Keep this in mind, and I will post up more details reguarding this subject when plans get finalized. I would like to see a large suby turnout, esp. since the old timers with their hot rods always show up in huge numbers, I wanna show them that us youngins with our "new age hotrods" are just as enthusiastic as they are. Keep your end of the month plans open, and I will let everyone know when exactly this is gonna happen!

True, but who goes to school on a Saturday? This will be a weekend event, so school should not be an issue, work is another story, but still, with enough notice, if ppl really wanna come, they can get the day off. BTW, for whoever I was talking to about this, I lied about the 05 STI being lighter than the 04. It's actually heavier due to the addition of the radio + speakers. Whoever told me the 05 STI was lighter was thinking of the JDM spec-C car. That's what I get for not fact-checking. I should know better.

Looks like I won't be comin down this week =/ I need my brake MC replaced and have to drive the car as little as possible (to school only) till I get it fixed. But once its fixed I'm upgrading to WRX front brakes to solve any other braking issues. Take it easy maybe c u all next week :)
