underdrive pulley good or no good

I've got the GFB under drive pulley kit and I like it however now that its summer I am seeing the bad side of having them. I can't run the A/C on high unless the car is moving. If I have the lights on and my lowly 120watt stereo at the same time at a stoplight the lights dim and the volts gauge reads only 12 volts which means it probably pulling power from the battery. I haven't tried to run the A/C (even on low), the stereo or lights at the same time when stopped.
My suggestion is to skip underdrive pulleys unless you intend to do a lot of high performance driving. In NY, where the summer is just starting into humid time, my A/C means a lot to me! (The WRX A/C is not that strong to begin with!) Weigh (literally) the benefit of 2-3 pounds of weight against the losses of charging power to runs accessories, lights, etc. If more power/performance is what you are after, check out upgrading the exhaust, or even a differenct ECU.
