If you don't mind a suggestion...

If you're broke, don't put a turbo in. Leave your car alone until you can afford to put the turbo in the correct way the first time.

I agree. Turbo=broken stuff= $$$. If you absolutely must, get a Ludespeed stage I or equivalent. It's low boost, very obvious power gains, and less then $2000.

Again, don't do it.

Imagine you're trying to bolt this all together, and like most projects, you can't find a piece or two... or three.. and you've got to make a "quick run to the store" for those parts. Oh, and that used fuel pressure regulator that you picked up is blown.. the wastegate spring isn't the one you want for your application....

Tyically this scenario cascades down and down and down and down...

If you aren't "comfortable" in your monitary standings DON'T DO IT.

correct. You in "your current financial state" should not get a turbo. You'll only end up dissappointed.

In none of the discussions I have read lately about putting in extra boost do I read about the extra bearing loads that are created. You can be very sure that the folks who prepare the WRC cars in Great Britain are not using stock bottom end stuff but con rod, mains, cam bearings et al made to take the heat. From sad experience (with other marques, such as an ancient Mustang 289), when you add stuff on top, you need to add compensatory stuff on the bottom, or a short, unhappy life is ahead of you. [And an expensive one, also.]

EJ25 bottom end can handle 6 psi no problem, AS LONG AS it's properly tuned. As always, bad tuning will break any motor.
