I'll let the timeslip do all the talking:) Don't know why the dates screwed up, typical PMI for ya. I'm P281 :D . Again, this is a BONE STOCK 2004 Impreza WRX STi. Needless to say I am very pleased with this car. :)

Congrads! Very nice driving skillz. Need to bring your ride to Bandi and see if what kind of times you can post there. Little more altitude, but better track conditions.

Thanks. Yeah, next time at the track will be Bandi. I'll throw some 104 in it and see what happens. I think it has a 13.4 in it for sure:D .

NIce time... I bet you could get that 60ft down a bit. That with the 104, you could be seeing 13.3!
Good job :)

Hey steve, first off sweet car.
Now onto the questions. Why run 104 octane? Are you hearing or seeing knock/detonation? At your elevation you shouldn't need any more then 93 octane. Too much octane will slow your car down. If your going to use more octane, then you need to put it in and do an ECU reset to get ANY benefits from the higher Octane.
Oh and that ET is right on with what has been published. Your altitude is hurting you.

If the STi's ECU is far less adaptive than the WRX, what I'm about to say doesn't apply and is wrong. But, its hard for me to believe that its so static in its behavior, especially when American gas varies in quality and octane so much.
When I up the octane in my gas tank the ECU responds without a doubt. It runs smoother, boosts happier, never retards. When I run out of the higher octane gasoline I try to be very gentle for at least 1/2 of a tank. If I don't let the car re-adapt it gets cranky like its having a hangover, starts retarding, etc. I can't believe that the STi's ECU wouldn't experience similar responses. I'd doubt you'd need a reset.
One way to find out: try it :D

Thanks. I went to Bandimere which is at 5800ft elevation and ran a little quicker, still stock 93 octane. I'm #209:D

Pretty impressive running 13.4 at 9000ft. SCC managed a 13.2 quickest run around sea level. Seems like 9000ft would take off more then 2 tenths.
