I read a comment on someone who used a cherry bomb glasspack, put on reversed to create a deeper tone, is this true?

View Full Version : Those with glasspacks on their trucks...(reversed glasspacks?) A glasspack is also known as a cherry bomb. All it is is a tube with holes drilled in it, fiberglass packing around it and encased in a larger steel pipe. Some brands of cherry bombs have little fins on the inside. However, I have never heard of putting a glasspack on backwards to get a different sound. I have a cherry bomb on my suby in place of my cats to keep the sound civil. Combined with the borla headers and stromung mid pipe and SS dual tip the car sounds GREAT. It just looks funny to have a cherry bomb under the car. imp22b2002 12-14-2002, 02:52 AM I've got a generic 3" glasspack (cherry bomb) on my '02 RS combined with 3" tubing from the cat back. It is quite loud. More top end power, but very loud at cruising speeds. I am wanting to get the MRT header and then custom build an exhaust from header to MRT 3" WRX muffler. |
