Hi guys! New to the subie world! Sacramento, CA!
Hi everybody!
I just got a 2004 WRB WRX and am very excited! I just wanted to drop a line and say hi to everyone in this forum and thank everyone in advance for the help/guide that I will definitely need in the future (not very car-educated, but willing to lurn
).
I already have a question that maybe you guys can help me clear up. When I purchased the car, the battery was already pretty bad.. So I put in a new battery. After that, everytime I start the car (not cold start), it would revv up, then suddenly drop to like 300rpm for like half a second, and go back up to around 550 or so where it sits idle. The car starts great, drives fine, and runs strong, but its just kinda weird that its like that after a new battery. Is this normal?
Thanks a bunch!

sup bro! Welcome to the club!
FYI-
1. Conduct search before you ask questions
2. We don't condone street racing
3. Have fun modding your car
4. Everything you do to mod your car is illegal.
5. Don't make dibs on parts you can't buy.
Happy I-clubbing!

Thanks for the quick response and warm welcoming guys!
Yea, I just found the problem kinda weird..seeing that even the old battery which tested at 26 cca's never caused a sudden rpm dip like that. The car is completely stock. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything beyond the ordinary. Any opinions on that?
Thanks guys

I experience a similar situation with my legacy. It wil sit at 1500 for a second or 2 then drop to 300-ish then bounce back up to 500-600. I have never experienced any issues with it and the dealer has never brought up anything about it when they have started up my car with me around and let it idle for a few seconds before driving it.
Oh, and we appreciate it when you try to use correct English and grammar around here.
. Welcome to the forums, dude.

Sounds good, thanks guys!
So I assume someone lost a car or parts due to theft, and realized that 'I_Fly_Low' was selling those exact parts (with identical scratches and scuffs, etc.) that they lost?
