There have been some posts about big rubber on the WRX but none that survey and collect in 1 place what bits people are using to achieve god-like traction and jump the setup gun on the (hopefully) upcoming STX rule change.

For those of you with the 'nads to experiment with big contact patch, please let us know how you were able to do it:

1. wheel brand and model (e.g. Volk CE28n)
2. wheel diameter, width and offset
3. tire model and size
4. suspension (coilover/spring/shock/camber plates brands)
5. suspension setup (ride height, front/rear camber)
5. spacers? fender rolling? conebasher fenders?
6. Do you rub? Badly? Front or rear? Fender or suspension? With just driver when autocrossing or with 7 friends in car?
7. Do you run like this on the street? Ride/noise comments?

Hopefully getting this info out will better prepare us WRX owners for next season. With ITRs packing 225's, we need big rubber to make sure WRX end up on top (and to fend off the coming onslaught of evo VIIIs and sport compact pretenders )

Hey All,

I have 255/40/17 on my car. THey are the Pirelli P Zeros. On 17x8.5 wheels. THey fit, you just have to have the right parts (coilovers and camber plates). Try it and see... My friend also has 245/40/17, and they fit perfect. No mods required.

Hey Jerry, you have the Volk CE28Ns, right? What offset are you two running to fit that in?

Just for $h!ts & giggles post whether you have a sedan (more than likely) or if you are a brave hearted wagon driver.

BTW, is the the SCCA proposing a max wheel width of 8 or 8.5in for STS/STX?
