Here's exactly why detailing completely depends on a detailer's skill with a machine polisher and his or her polishing compound.

to clarify, no i did not do this car. I can certainly correct to a degree, but I find it harder to capture the full correction as this guy did. He's from Portugal.

And to answer you question, there is absolutely no clear bra on this Ferrari 360 Door. Half of it was polish, half of it wasn't. The middle was taped off and the line is from polish dust building up on the tape.

The following materials were used to my knowledge.

Makita Rotary Polisher
farecla G4
Menz PO203
Menz PO85RD

Great results, it is hard to beat Menzerna in terms of polishes. I think most people would get the results they wanted with a combiation of their polishes and even just a random orbital. A rotary definately requires more skill and confident, but I would encourage anyone to pick one up and get some test panels from a junk yard.

Try:
Menzerna Power Gloss (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=2060&url=detailedimage.com/Menzerna-M10/Power-Gloss-P74/) For Deep Scratches and swirling
Intensive Polish (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=2060&url=detailedimage.com/Menzerna-M10/Intensive-Polish-IP-P72/) For your average spider webbing and light scrathces
Final Polish (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=2060&url=detailedimage.com/Menzerna-M10/Final-Polish-II-FPII-P73/) Remove any haze from the above two polishes and light swirls.

Ceramic Clearcoat Polish (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php?id=2060&url=detailedimage.com/Menzerna-M10/PO106ff-Ceramic-Clear-Coat-Polish-P75/) A nice one step polish between the IP and FP polishes. :)
