This is the same service as the Complete Custom Tune bellow, but instead of requiring the use of an AccessPORT, I flash the ECU directly. The customer does not have to purchase any extra equipment or licensing, instead you just pay for the tuning time. This is a great option for those who would not utilize the full feature set of the AP, or those on a tighter budget.



EQ Custom Base map for your modifications -
This is a base map picked out from my extensive collection that will be appropriate for the specific modifications on your car at the time of purchase. These maps are very conservative as they are meant to run safely without any extra tuning. They will run significantly better than the Cobb OTS maps, providing more overall power, greatly improved response and drivability, and are safer overall for our specific 91 Octane fuel.

* $775 packaged with AP V2


EQ Custom Base Map with Logging, Verification, and Minor Tuning AKA "Quick Tune" -
This service starts with an EQ Custom Base Map for your set of modifications loaded onto your AP and flashed to the ECU. We will then perform several pulls with full logging and wideband a/f data to confirm that the map is running properly on your specific car. If anything is not quite as expected, we will also perform the necessary adjustments to make sure the tune is running safely and at the expected, conservative, power levels. At the end of the service the customer will end up with the custom map, any logging acquired while verifying that the map is running safely, as well as any power/torque graphs we acquire during testing. Note that no emphasis will be placed on extracting the best possible power with this service. The goal is to get a safe, smooth, responsive, and consistent running map. This service is aimed at the enthusiast who wants a quality EQ Tuning Custom Base map but would also like the peace of mind of knowing that the tune was verified and any adjustments were made to make sure the car is running safely. This service takes approximately 1 hour.

EQ Complete Custom Tuning -
This is the complete custom tune for your car and setup. In this process I start with one of my base maps that's close to your setup and spend at least 2 hours custom tuning and perfecting the map to your specific car, requirements, and even your driving style. I will spend at least 3 hours on more complicated setups such as Big-MAF intakes, big turbos, rotated setups, race fuel, meth injection, etc. Such setups require some serious time to not only extract the right amount of power but to provide great daily drivability and consistancy. This is where my attention to detail really comes into play and will result in the best possible tune for your setup with an emphasis on the balance between the most possible safe power, consistency, drivability, and reliability.

Standard setups (stock turbo, stock injectors, any TBE, select aftermarket intakes):
* $400 with your own AP
* $1000 packaged with AP V2

Complicated setups (upgraded turbo, injectors, fmic, meth injection, etc):
* $500+ with your own AP
* $1100+ packaged with AP V2

If the wastegate was over-ported it may result in decreased overall boost response. Its very uncommon for VF34's to actually need wastegate porting.

Well that was interesting.... it rained this morning but it was still 98F! The rest of the day was hot and humid. Just one more day here and I can get back to 80F in Novato :)

This car did have significant mods, so results with a bone stock car may be different. This was also on 87 Octane. I could see 15-20whp with some higher octane but it may not be worth the price at the pump ;).

I'll post some graphs when I get back to cali.

Here's the before/after. This car has an injen CAI, borla headers, and custom 2.25" exhaust with high flow cat. The before is the stock ECU with all the mods, after is with the tune. I'd be curious to see what a bone stock car does. Aside from the power gains, the car was much smoother overall with improved response. Here's the dyno chart on 87 Octane!!!

Both Denso and NGK are fine. NGK's are a bit cheaper usually and work just as well, so that's generally my recommendation. One heat range colder is a good idea for stage 2 cars and above.

That Saabaru had a custom exhaust, headers, and intake.

You don't really need anything for the tune. I'm sure we could get good gains with a bone stock car. Even more if you want to use 91 Octane.

I know its not necessarily a good excuse, but it is what it is. The wedding specifically and the tuning trips around it really set me back. My voicemail box is currently nearly full and I'm several weeks behind on e-mail. I sincerely apologize to all of you who have been waiting for a response and I'm making a lot of effort to catch up and take care of everyone.

Unfortunately some of us view ourselves as consumers and when someone says they're going to do something and they don't it gets a bit frustrating.

I'm sorry your car got overlooked in Reno. The tuning trips are very different from local tuning because I'm literally tuning for 14+ hours straight for a couple days. I usually don't have time to eat, let alone track someone down. I apologize I didn't get a hold of you just prior to leaving, but once I'm in Reno I have to prioritize my time. So when I have a line of customers with big setups waiting for 2 custom tuned maps each, I can't stop what I'm doing for 30 minutes to try to track down your info to get you to come out for a base map flash.

This sort of thing almost never happens on my trips, but once in a while it may and all I can do is apologize and try to organize the trips better so it does not happen again. I'm sorry you feel mistreated, but its not like I took any money from you or provided a bad service. The scheduling just didn't work out. If you're still interested in a base map or a tune, let me know and we can work something out, otherwise I wish you the best of luck with whatever path you take with your car.

Very good in general, but it depends on the specific car. I don't have bone stock base maps for some models/years.

This is the same service as the Complete Custom Tune above, but instead of requiring the use of an AccessPORT, I flash the ECU directly. The customer does not have to purchase any extra equipment or licensing, instead you just pay for the tuning time. Note that while the end results with this service will be the same as with an AP, it does take longer to perfect the tune with this method. For that reason, the pricing is adjusted to reflect the extra time I will have to spend on the tune.

Standard setups (2-3 hours) - $400

Complicated setups (3+ hours) - $500

I've been working on this for quite a while and I've finally managed to get this tuning platform to a point where I can officially start offering tuning services with it to the community!

This is the same service as the Complete Custom Tuning I've always offered, but instead of requiring the purchase of an AccessPORT, or Ecutek license, I flash the ECU directly using a different proprietary tuning software. The customer does not have to purchase any extra equipment or licensing, instead you just pay for the tuning time. From the customer's point of view, this is very similar to the OpenSource tuning that has been becoming more popular; the main difference being that I use better developed and more complete tuning/flashing/logging software than the current OpenECU options.

Note that while the end results with this service will be the same as with an AccessPort, it does take more time to perfect each tune with this method. For that reason, the pricing is adjusted to reflect the extra time I will have to spend on the tune:

Standard setups (2-3 hours) - $400

Complicated setups (3+ hours) - $450+

Now available for CAN-BUS applications (08+) with full control of the SI Drive function.

Yep, I have access to all the same maps and parameters as I do with the AccessPORT/ProTuner platform. This means the end result will be exactly the same.
