To toggle it on/off, press unlock once then press lock and unlock together for 2 seconds. That should be it. It may be written on the back of the key fob.

Your buzzer is fualty- if you have warranty, get it replaced at no cost, this is a common problem.

That sucks. We just bought a used '07 and it doesn't chirp when locking. I tried the steps to re-activate but it still doesn't work. Guess I have to call the dealer tomorrow and make an appointment.

Here's the steps to activate/de-activate for those who may be interested...

Sit in the drivers seat
Open the drivers door
Remove the key from the ignition
Press and HOLD the unlock button on the door
Insert and remove the key from the ignition six times within 10 seconds
While holding unlock, close the drivers door within 10 seconds
The hazards should blink 3 times to confirm.

ha so weird..i got an 07 wrx and the chirp goes off and on occasionally as well...as mello stated there is a way to make sure it stays in audio. in the manuel by leavin the key in ignition..hold unlock button, leave driver door open, and stick key in and out 6 times then close door release unlock and the signal lights will flash twice....i did that to deactivate the chirp once..then a few weeks later I decided to do it again to have the chirp since i liked it...now it just decides when to chirp when i press unlock or lock...im thinkin now i got an excuse to buy an aftermarket alarm now
