Hello all!
Yup, I don't even have the car yet but thinking of purchasing the 06-07 STI if possible.
I have a lot of question to ask...really...

1. What is the stock boost of the STI's turbo?
2. How much boost can it handle on a stcok turbo?
3. WRX Turbo and STI engine, the same thing?

I am thinking of getting the STI but see that WRX is a little cheaper.
Is there a major diference on the engine or the turbo?!

Thanks and sorry for asking too much question.
I just felt so excited when i found out about the potential of this car!

Thanks for the reply.

So I am assuming that the engine type is different also?
It's not the turbo that is creating the differences in HP but it is the engine right?
Hmm, better to go wit the STI then!:eyebrows:

Welcome to the site.

Stock STi boost is ~14.5 psi. I'm running 18 psi on mine with a turboback exhaust and tuning.

if possible, definately go with the sti. they are way faster stock, and the interior is much nicer. i have an 07 wrx, and love it, but i wish i would have waited and saved for the sti. the seats in the sti are much more encompasing for when you take hard turns too. but as for performance, the sti has a better intercooler setup, and higher boost the wrx is 7psi i believe. but that sti engine also has different headers to handle the power. im not sure about the pistons and valves and clutch. one thing also amazing about the wrx sti rather then just the wrx is six gears. you have have a nice cruise on the free way in gear six at 3000 rpms when the wrx would be around 4 or 4.5
definately go with the sti

Nice!

I guess that's why the STI is a lot more expensive than the WRX huh?
Well, I will be looking foward to getting this car.
I just think that it is best bang for the buck!
Looked at 350Z, G35, and all other sports cars but does not have the trunk space that I need for what I do.
And I guess people really don't know the capabilities of the Impreza that it's sorta like stealthy...... well, that's just my imagination.

Anyways, thanks for the Reply!:)
