Hey guys and gals, I hava quick question.

I have a pipercross air filter, on a short ram Cold Air intake. I want to clean it. I read a few articles that recommend dipping it in gasoline for an hour or two and then letting it dry, and then re-oiling with the supplied stuff.

That does not sound right to me. Can anyone verify or offer other suggestions?

Pipercross (http://www.pipercross.com/) has no instructions for cleaning air filters on their web site. I doubt that they would instruct you to use gasoline as a cleaning solvent, though - it's dangerous. Have you tried contacting Pipercross?

If you have a WRX, Factory Turbo is the forum to post intake questions. If not, then Normally Aspirated is the place. Engine Management is for questions and discussions related to electronic engine management such as the factory ECU, or aftermarket units, both user-tuneable or otherwise.
