replaced my 215-45-17 bridgestone re-011's with the above, in the same size. compared to the re011, these are much, much quieter and more compliant, almost as if i were driving on the stock 16" re-92's again. of course, the trade off is they feel less responsive, as the comfort is probably from softer sidewalls. i haven't pushed the new tires yet, but overall they seem less grippy and confidence inspiring. but, i prefer the comfort, when driving in the city. overall, not a bad all-season for $96 a pop.

yeh, i use them in 225/45/17 size. they're pretty good for streeting around in all weather type conditions. as long as
you have a 22mm sway bar on the rear, they dont squeal too
bad. the softer sidewalls do distort the overall cornering feel,
but without the sway bar the wrx doesnt corner that well
anyway, so its not just the tire that improves handling on this
car. im also using TEIN HA's and cusco front/rear tower bars.

the ride is on the softer side and pretty quiet. not bad. :D

for summer, i plan to get a different set.

I have 225/45/17's also. I'm very pleased with these tires. The traction is great in all conditions. You can't go wrong with these for the price. Compaired to the re92's... it's night and day difference. They work well on my SSR Competitions;-P

Oh yeah... the rear adjustable 24mm swaybar from MRT and the kartboy solid endlinks help too...

I recently switched from Sumitomo HTR+ 215/45ZR17 to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 205/55ZR16. The Sumitomos are decent tires and perform very well in the dry and the wet - I have not experienced them in the snow, but since they are All-season tires, they should perform acceptably in the snow. They are fairly quiet too. A very good value for the money paid.

I was thinking about getting a pair, but now I'm wondering just how flexy are the sidewalls? My RE-92s have scuffs almost halfway down the sidewall, and they are horrible in the twisties. I dont want do dump a bunch of money in new tires and have the same problem. How do they compare with the stock tires as far as handling, ride noise, and tread life?

HTR+ is better than RE92s in ALL categories (don't know about tread wear though). RE92s suck. For the money, HTR+ is the best all season. Pilot Sport A/S is best if you have the money.

you need to get a rear 22mm sway bar with endlinks inorder
to achieve a neutral cornering wrx. its not just the tires
that is causing severe understeer.

the swaybar and the HTR+ will equal a very decent street
machine. :D
