Smile Burning clutch smell during '06 WRX break-in period? (was: 06 Snif)

Wurp!! new to the club and 1st time subaru owner. I currently own a 06 wagon, love it speed agility, and reflexes of a cheeta, and still practical comfortable and loyal as a labrador. I only have one concern, when i drive it hard (not droping clutch) i can smell some thing that i identifie as burning clutch, it could be something else am not shure but thats what is smells to me like. It only has a little over 1000 miles on it. Is this normal during break inn period or is it something i should bring to my dealer attention.
tnx.

New subaru's are sprayed on the undercarraige with a substance called cosmoline to prevent any rust. Sometimes it is sprayed on thick and will take a few thousand miles
to burn off. I am almost certain that is what you smell so do not let it worry you to much.

Yes the cosmoline will really stink for the first few thousand miles, you may even see some smoke initially. It eventually goes away.
