Wingless Wonder 11-26-2006, 10:15 AM Don't know the thread size offhand but you can probably remove the console and pull the shifter to take to a home supply store to match with a metric nut. Machining your own shift knob is an interesting idea. What material would you consider using? Some owners state that an all-metallic knob sometimes gets pretty warm in the summertime so you might have to throw a sock over the shift knob or use a sun shade if you park outdoors. -- 0==WW==0 "…axles of evil…" - george w. bush Mulder 11-26-2006, 12:10 PM 12x1.25, same as the lug nuts. On my way home I stopped by a Lowe's home center... ;) That's my OEM WRX shift lever pictured with the metric nut packaging. -- 0==WW==0 "…axles of evil…" - george w. bush sickassbob 11-27-2006, 09:48 PM thanks for the help. Im going to use aluminum. i am hoping to put an engine starter button in the knob with a flip cover. i still need to find a button that is small enough to fit in. |
