I had a 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S 6-speed. Some idoit made unsafe lane change and hit my celica very badly. My celica will probably Total Lost. All the TRD and other performance parts going along as well. It was a pian ........for me ....................>< anyway

Now I'm looking into STi. New life, New mind of driving. Is STi really "ready to rock" car? I don't look in to any mod on my next car. (Maybe Exhaust or stable bar only) I just want to keep it as stock as possible.

I really wanna get some fill-in from your guys about stock STi handling, performance, etc.

If you plan on keeping your next car stock or near stock, the STI is a very good choice. The EVO is another option. Here is some spec. on EVO and STI.

You will not be disappointed with an STi or the EVO. Just to let you know, the build quality of an STi is far superior then that of an EVO.

EVO and the STi are awesome cars out of the box, my only complaint about the evo is the lag. The STi does seem a lil mor torquey down low.

Box stock the STI can get you into plenty of trouble... Great ride.

The EVO? I sell both and can go from one camp to the other daily... in the end the Subaru build wins out.

Sure the EVO has 10 years of powertrain warranty ~ but, the car is still in the shop and you don't have a ride while it's in service. We see twice the EVOs in for repair and warranty claims then the Suby... But still there is a Blk on Blk leather EVO right outside my showroom office that is to die for!

I owned an RX-8 and used to autocross it. I had tein springs, koni adjustable shocks, and ultra high performance street tires, an aggressive alignment, and about a year of experience with the car and setup. It was pretty quick and I did pretty good with it.

After an event one weekend, we got to do some fun runs. A friend let me try his Cobb chipped WRX (not an STi) with all-season tires and I beat my best time that day by more than a second on my second try -- in a car I never drove in my life.

Mind you, my RX-8 cornered better than the WRX mostly due to tires (the WRX would have been killer on slicks) but I more than made up for it in the straight shots. Wow is all I can say.
