Sorry about the noob question but...

What should I look for in after market brakes? I have an Impreza L and I would like to do either a swap or drop a turbo. Pretty much, I would like to do the little things up to the swap or the turbo.

Anyway... about the brakes, what do you guys recommend? Someone recommended 4-pots. Could someone give me an idea how much I would spend for either all the things I'll need for a set of 4-pots or for a brake kit that has everything in it? Any cheap kits you guys recommend?

TIA.

Subaru 4 pots for the front is all you need (unless you have drums in the rear, then get the disc conversion).

For just the fronts, you're looking at about $500... They work great, I have them on both of my cars.

dont turbo the car...ull blow the motor in less than a week. those motors are NOT ment for turbos at all even at low amounts of boost. swap is the best/safest route seriously. go for some 4ports, ull like them. i have some 4 piston wilwoods with carbotech rotors/pads and love em! Oh yea...my short block will be up for sale soon, you can buy it and build it up while you collect parts for a swap

Cool. Hey brucelee, want a calendar?

Yeah.. I have drums in the rear. I wonder how much a disc conversion is.

Dude... I have a ton of parts in my garage right now. I am waiting for my car's oil leak to be taken care of. Actually, I just have a catback and headers for EJ22. Haha. Those parts have been lying around for like 2 or 3 weeks now.

uh there's a great thread on nabcith-co started by racecompengineering about their obs wagon. it's not exactly an l but it'll give you a pretty cool picture of what your l could be. I believe they put lgt brakes on it with braided lines and aftermarket pads, all that good stuff?

the suspension is what'll make you drool though

Subaru 4pots usually run like $500 in the classifieds. For the rear just look for someone who has a set of stock WRX rears laying around it shouldn't cost much.

For the 4-pots, I'll need the rotors, caliphers, and pads right?

As for the the stock rear WRX conversion, is that something that can be done at an install meet or should that be done by someone that knows what they are doing?

I guess that is why I post this in the Regional forums. I think more people would reply.
