Whos good with cell phones? I'm looking for a Motorola RIZR...
http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/mobilep...68302p,00.htm?
I found this cool phone online and wondering if anyone knows anything about importing phones and getting them to work??
Also, because I doubt anyone will be able to help me get the RIZR, I am in the market for a regular RAZR. If anyone can get me a deal on a regular Razr phone with verizon service, let me know. TIA TIA!

cant help you with the 'RIZR" (never hear of that) but if you get a RAZR from Verizon know that in will come with the the ability to upload/download pics/ringtones/all data to and from you computer disabled from Verizon so they can get you to pay extra for that service, this is bull**** and also totaly illegal since they are knowingly disabling a feature that motorola ships the phone with to sell it to you later. Theres an old term for when stores used to do this same thing by selling say a TV for one low price and taking the remote out of its box and selling you that seperately, cant think of what its called now though. Anyhow, if you do get a Verizon let me know, I'll show you how to hack it to get your sruff off it like it was made to before Verizon got a hold of it

I don't think youd really have any problems getting it to work since you supports GPRS (Cingular blah blah blah). You would just need a valid SIM card...correct?

The only way u can get the RIZR to work you would need to be with a GSM provider (Cingular/T-Mobile) being Verizon runs of CDMA...

The RIZR is the new phone from MOTO (codenamed "Canary"). I doubt it's released already. The name has just been released like 2-4 weeks ago, so it's still pretty new.
If you do get one, make sure it's unbranded and unlocked. You want it unbranded because most likely Asia and/or Europe will get the phone before us (as always, stupid Cingular), and brands usually load the phone with a lot of crap.
It will work here however, since it's QUAD-BAND (has the 850mhz frequency).
Quite a sweet phone. Too thin for my likings.
Also, you said you want a RAZR for Verizon. I'd just buy one straight from the Verizon store, because you don't want to hassle with calling them up and tell them that you've changed phones, since Verizon is CDMA (no SIM, so no swapping). I hear the V3m is good.

hmmm, thanks for the responses. yeah, i think ill jus get a verizon v3m razr. ill wait until the price drops back to $69 price instead of the $99 it just went back to. the reason i want verizon so badly is because i live in a basement and i need good reception. my current sprint phone gets pretty good reception but ive had it for 2.5 years and sprint doesnt currently have any phones worth buying.
hey Krinkov, so how would i unlock all those features? i assume itll be fairly easy correct? thanks!

Supposedly the new V3i aka "RAZR with iTunes" is finally coming out for Cingular.
Basically a updated V3 with better screens, 1.3mp camera and expandable SD memory for music and video playback.

Sadly, Cingular is slow as hell with "adapting" and testing new phones for customers. The V3i has been out for quite a while now (~Early 2006).
Nonetheless, it's a great phone. Screens are kept the same from the old V3. But yeah, it does have microSD transflash expandable memory, and a 1.3 camera, vs. the 0.3 VGA on the standard V3.
The exterior has been changed by changing the outer housings to a "quartz" like purple-silver-gunmetalish finish. Looks sharp. The outer LCD external screen (not the screen itself) has been made larger to add the glowing blue Motorola "M" logo.
