Buying a Used Subie, Is This Legit?

Hello,
My finacee was about to sign on the line for a new '06 2.5i Wagon when we happened to see one sitting on a used car lot. Intrigued, we stopped for a look. It's an '06 2.5i Wagon with 1,100 miles on the clock. The dealer insists that it was a trade in that he took "from another dealership in our group". I'm worried that's it's a press demonstrator and has been beaten within an inch of its life. The dealer isn't a Subaru dealer. I don't know if that matters or not. I have the VIN and have looked it up on CarFax. CarFax has 12 records for it, though obviously I can't see them without buying the report. If anyone can take the VIN and find information with it, PM me.

So, is this likely a safe buy? How much under new pricing sould we be talking?

Thanks guys,
Ty

How large is the price difference? I'm guessing it's very minimal. I'd personally recommend buying one that's new, but then again, I always like to buy my things new.

I'm totally all about the new, but the fiancee and her family have never bought a new car in their lives. I'm fighting some inertia there. More importantly, here's the CarFax on it.... wtf?
