Hi everyone, new to the forum. I'm looking for some bolt on performance mods for my '96 legacy gt, and I am looking to start with a catback exhaust and a new intake. I've read a bit about rallitek intakes, but I can't seem to find a section for mid '90s legacys on their website. I've also looked at weapon R from spo motorsports, but people here have suggested against that. As far as exhaust goes I am looking for a subtle looking muffler and tip with the most significant power gain (Ex. Borla). I have looked at many websites for catback exhausts for a '96 legacy and come up empty handed. I was wondering if a '96 impreza exhaust would fit on a legacy? I have heard about parts being swappable between different models, anyone a word on this? Also, if I was to go any farther than an exhaust and intake, what would be your suggestion on priority. Turbo is out of the question and so are new brakes and suspension unless anyone has any good ideas for not alot of money. I want to keep my car looking as subtle as possible so I was thinking about getting some trade in 17" '05 or '06 legacy gt wheels. Nothing flashy. On a side note, do new spark plug wires add any significant difference, and if I was to look for a performance chip, what would you suggest? Keep in mind changes come slowly around here as I am paying for college on top of all my car fantasies. Thanks in advance for your advice.

A friend of mine had a 2001 GT Sedan. I think I remember somewhere that the exhausts were the same for quite a while, but not sure what years. Anyways this exhaust is a Borla catback, it used to be on their site, but has since been removed.

We are about 3 1/2 hours north of you...I'm sure we could work something out to meet halfway.
It is hard to find performance items for the older Legacy. Congrats on landing the car...free is an awesome price ;)
