just came back from the track tonite, and only had two runs since there was madd people. i was at Orlando Speedworld. anyways, i didnt know what to expect but found a fellow suby with a blue wrx running a utec, downpipe, exhaust n maybe more. anyways i talked to him bout how he ran his first time stock. he said stock he ran a 14.7 and with a boost controller a 14.5. so that was my goal for tonite to hit a 14.5 since im stock with a mbc set ~16psi. he gave me some tips on launching, since i burn up my clutch most of the time on the street when i try. he said to ease up the clutch til it kinda engages and rev to 5500 then slip it a bit. good stuff. anyways i stage up and overstage and the green light suprises me. anyways i do what he told me and this is the result:

not bad from what i expected. not bad at all, but i really wanna cut down that 60' down under 2 secs. im sure that'll help me cut down my et. any advice anyone???

Stock, you probably wont be able to cut it down. That's, uh, about a perfect fun for bone stock. Honestly, I have to kinda squint a bit when your first timeslips match guys from Car & Driver. But hey, more power to ya. Beginner's luck? ... maybe you're just a natural!

Most guys I know with some minimal start mods (no resonator, exhaust, maybe MBC) get 60fts of low 1.9's and some squeak into 1.8x.

what method of launching did u use to get that 1.7 60'? seems like that should be my goal for next time.

Wow, did I read your original post wrong. I saw your R/T as your 60ft. Ooops, sorry.

So your 60ft is 2.0. I Almost fully dump the clutch at about 4000-5000RPM to get 1.90 60fts.

The Car & Driver guys usually do balls-out tactics to get their results... like full on dump at close to redline :eek:

man.. ive considered it but dang.. im scared for this suby's tranny.. my poor car.. hehe... this one dude was telling me to redline and then drop the clutch.. he says that gives him great 60' times. but i dont think a broken tranny is worth it. Id rather have a safe consistent launch. but im considering dumping the clutch to see what ill get.. :(

I held it at 5000 rpm's when the tree counted down to get the rpms high on the turbo but the pressure doesn't build unless its floored so before the last yellow light i let off, then floored and dumped it right before green.
