Shoddy treatment at dealership (was: What The...are You Kidding Me?!)
I posted a thread earlier about my 2006 Sti transmission blowing after 4 months of commuting. It had been at the dealership since the day it broke in January. I have tried everything to resolve the situation. I went through Subaru of America and the California New Motor Vehicle Board but still they will not repair it under warranty. So I am having the car taken to a shop with a Subaru master mechanic so I can get a second opinion and take them to court.
When I went to pick my car up after not Having it for the last 4 months there were nicks, scratches and dents all over it. When i confronted them about it they said that I was S O L. According to them they are not responsible for my car while it is on their lot, in their possession. The head service manager Jim Warley said that leaving it parked on their lot was "the same as leaving it in a Wal-mart or Mcdonalds parking lot". Then he said "that’s to bad... click". and hung up. I called Soa right away and left a message with Jody Colhan, a manager for customer service. She actually called me back which was a shock in itself but she said that they have no control over individual dealer practices.
So to anyone out there check your car before and after you take it in and try to hold them responsible for any body damage. My car had a perfectly straight body when it went in and now it looks like they left it in a grocery store parking lot and pushed shopping carts at it.
Another thing if you have a Mysubaru.com account they have your email address and will try to use things you say online like on this website against you. they had my first thread printed and gave it to me when I picked up my paper work.

can we try that again without the caps?
If you really wanna get the dealership and SOA to put their foot in their mouths, ask them to confirm that they put a weak tranny that cannot hold ths stock power of the STi in a 300bhp car. They'll stumble all over themselves denying that. Once they deny it, ask again why your tranny failed. I think it should be obvious to everyone by now that SOA will try to do anything to void the warranty (however, an internet post will not hold up in court
). Also, ask them to show you where you signed, or where it is posted that you're leaving your car their at your own risk and that they are not liable for any damage. If you did sign it somewhere, all you can do is publicly drag their name through the mud. If you didnt sign anything like that, drag their name through the mud and take that to court too
good luck man, sorry to hear about your situation

Please edit your post and please do not post in all caps. Your text has been converted to capitalize only the first letter but it's still hard to read because you didn't break it down into paragraphs, either.
Thanks for your consideration.

sorry about that. i wrote it like that because i work at an engineering firm and when you write an email in all caps its the same as yelling at someone or letting them know you are mad. i didnt know it would come out all messed up.

Unless you were Auto-Xing or Drag racing ~ you should be covered. I am embarrassed if you aren't, since I work for Subaru. Missed your original post as well. Just reading you commute post... I am trusting it WILL be resolved. Good luck.
