To buy in California or Minnesota?

So I decided that I needed a car for school in middle of nowhere Pennsylvania Bucknell; it's really such a ***** to get to the airport or where ever without spending 30-150 bucks. After driving people in their own cars a few time during the winter (being from Minnesota I've gotten pretty good at this sort of driving), I found that winters here can be respectable. From this I determined that an AWD car was the way to go. What better car then an Impreza?

If anybody is familiar with any Minnesota dealers, I went to the White Bear Lake dealership and got the best price that I could find around: $17,210 for the 2006 2.5i Impreza wagon and add $700 for the 2007 model. While there will be a 2006 wagon soon in their lot, my father recommended that I order the 2007 for its resale value, so that was what I purchased in the end in total about 20 grand.

Now there is a chance that my car will not make it to Minnesota before I leave again for school: the car is to arrive late August. However, I will soon be leaving for UCLA to attend their summer semester until about August 8; therefore, I hypothesized that it might be possible to not only recieve a better price in LA, for either the '07 or '06, but to also meet my car there.

What are your thoughts?

William

Have you tried contacting some of the local CA dealerships to get some price quotes to really see if you would save money?
