need mod ideas for '93 Impreza L 1.8 (was: New Subaru Owner In Need Of Help)
I hate being the new guy. But I am really starting to get upset with the leak of parts I am able to find for my 93 Impreza 1.8L FWD. It has beening driving me nuts that all I can really find are suspension parts and a short shifter. The car already has an intake, so that is taken care of. But I would love to be able to find an exhuast system for it. Anyone know of where I may be able to find a cat-back system for it? Maybe even a header? I know what everyone thinks of the 1.8L. And I know everyone would just tell me to do a swap. But truth be told, I really do not have the money to put a WRX or STi engine into it. I wish I did though. So PLEASE. If anyone knows of anything that I can do to improve the engine I have in it please let me know.
Thanks for the help.

Catback exhaust systems for any car are usually easy to fabricate by any competent muffler shop. The very best shops have in-house mandrel bending equipment for smooth, kink-free tubing bending but good results can be had from careful bending using more conventional equipment, too. Sharper bends can be had by welding up pre-formed sections that many shops have in stock or can be ordered from outfits like Summit Performance. I knew a guy who welded up his own V-8 equal length headers from using cut sections of pre-formed tubing bends to fit his truck chassis.
Be forewarned that custom fabrication prices will vary from shop to shop. Some will charge less than ready-made catback systems, but others won't.

i made my 94L 1.8 to an 2.5rs awd. tho there are coilove[I]rs out there for our cars. any eood lighing the h-01 susp. will work. u can convert the front to look like an 01 by changing the hood/grill/lights/ bumper and bumper beam. for the engine u can get borla headers/intake/ pulleys
Thanks for the help. So far this is what my car has (had it when I bought it). 01 conversion (ie. WRX hood, front bumber, WRX STi fog lamps, side skirts and rear bumper flares), lowering spring (not sure of brand), 17" rims and Toyo tires, muffler, and an intake.
Shaggadelic. I checked with Borla once before and they did not have anything for my engine/year. The only headers that I could find are for the 2.0, 2.2, and 2.5. I had a crank pulley on my Celica and it ended up cracking the crank. So I really do think I will ever get another pulley set. But thanks for the tip.
Oh yeah. Is Imperzas know for oil leaks? The cam seals and crank seal are shoot on my car. And is costing me $580 to get them replaced (timing belt as well since oil has gotten to it).
