Tranny Info help

I'm just doing some research right now and was wondering if any of the earlier FWD Suby trannies came w/ a factory LSD. If so what year/model.

I'm thinking of doing a Suby swap into a Porsche 914. I know that there are conversion kits available but those kits utilize the stock Porsche tranny with an adapter to bolt up the Suby motor. I'm hoping to use a STi motor and a suitable Suby tranny that would bolt-up to it. TIA.

I am also trying to find out info about this very same type of swap for my 914. From what I hear you can use the STI 4wd trans and just get the center diff welded. This makes the 4wd trans into a front wheel drive, making it perfect for the 914 layout. You may wand to do some more reasurch on this fact but one thing I can tell you is that using a trans from earlier FWD cars will be too weak a trans for your RWD 914 with STI engine. One question I have 4 u Do you know if the STI bell housing mounting flange is the same as the mounting flange on a 93 Legacy ej22 emgine????? thanks and good luck I hope to hear more about your subie powered 914 in the future and keep your eyes pealed for mine.
It will be the yellow one with wide body that just smoked you. !!kidding!!
