stock suspension, want ideas for coilovers

getting a '03 wrx w/still stock suspension. would like to hear some good coilovers i-clubbers would recommend. i dont mind spending a bit of money to get'em as long as it good stuff but at the same time i would like to keep it between $0-$3000 and $3500 at the most. i was think cusco or tein, but not sure exactly what model. thoughts or comments

Personally, we love the Helix DNAs. They're definitely the best bang for the buck coilover on the market at the moment. They have similar specifications to the Tein Flex (16 way dampening adjustable, independently height adjustable), but they cost several hundred dollars less at $999 shipped. Additionally, they are lighter than the Tein Flex (aluminum struts vs. coated steel) and they ride better. These are an an excellent sporty coilover that is comfortable but also effective for light track duty.

I personally just purchased kw variant 3's for my sti. i did alot of research and they seem to be the best. none of the japanese companies have coilovers that are three way adjustable.

Haha. Funny you should mention that cause I most certainly would buy them if I didn't track my car so much. I have Zeal Function V6s on my car currently but I if I was looking for a great bang for the buck street biased coilover that could see limited track duty, these are without a doubt what I would buy.

These are awesome coilovers but I don't think it's necessary to have 2 way adjustable coilovers on your car (let alone 3 way adjustable) unless it's a full track car or your a semi-pro driver. Also, I wouldn't call these true 3 way adjustable coilovers. A true 3 way would use external reserviors and would be a term used for coilovers like high end Aragostas, JRZs, Motons, Sachs, etc. But again, excellent choice; IMHO those are some of the best coilovers on the market independent of price.

Thanks,

Geoff

3 grand is a good budget for coilovers, I'd recommend Zeal or Cusco.

ive been driving around on the cusco zero 2-E's. the E-con controller isnt hooked up at the moment, but these coilovers are butter! the ride is very tolerable and they absorb bumps on the road very well. the ride was like night and day vs the tein flex.

i heard very good stuff about the JIC FLTA2 i still have a brand new set that i will sell for $1550 cause i ended up selling my 05 sti. i paid $1650 from FIA///Race Centric in Stockton. they run JICs on thier time attack/road race EVO and STI and i saw the owner of Race centric on Laguna seca is their STI w/JICs and he was spanking the new M5, 911s and Muler's EVO and their car only has JIC FLTA2suspention, JIC header and JIC turbo back exhaust.
