Hi, I recently bought Seibon's CF Hood and Trunk. My hood lined up pretty good, but its my trunk Im having a problem with. My first issue was that it wasn't closing. But I overcame that by bringing up the hook that the lock on the trunk catches when you close the trunk. Now my problem is lining it up. The passenger side (right side) is perfect. The driver side (left side) lines up but when the trunk is closed its not flush with the rear fender. Its raises up about 1/4-1/2". Ive called both Seibon and the shop I bought it from and neither of them have heard of this problem, and since neither of them can physically see it they cant help me. So now its on to you guys before I try my last resort which is a body shop. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know how I can bring one side down so everything is flush?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's pretty typical. Aftermarket body peices are never perfect. And, the trunk is very light so the tension springs are actually pushing it upwards.

just to let you know. My seibon trunk fits exactly likes yours. The passenger side is perfect and driver side is off a bit. I was having issues closing the damn thing too. But i tweaked it a bit and now it fits almost flushed. I would say a high percentage of cf trunks wont fit perfect. jsut have to deal with it.

Only the JDM aftermarket parts are the ones that fits perfect.

Thanks everyone for their response it was appreciated. Yea I might try to tweak it and see if I can get it closer to flush but its really not that big of a deal to me. One guy I know mentioned tweaking the bar that is connected to the car. Bending it down might bring the trunk flush when closed. But I dont know if I want to mess with that bar too much and have something go wrong later down the line. Thanks again.
