A group of devout Muslim men said yesterday they were victims of racial profiling when they were detained at a Giants game for engaging in prayer.
"When it's time for prayer, it's time to worship God," said one of the men, Sami Shaban, 27, a Seton Hall Law School student. "No matter where we are, we stop and we pray."
But FBI and Giants Stadium officials insisted yesterday that they did not question the men because they were praying, but because of where they were praying.
George Zoffinger, president of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, said stadium security alerted the FBI when the men were spotted congregating near the main air intake duct during the Sept. 19 game against the New Orleans Saints.
