hey all
long time viewer first time poster. looks like im gonna be getting a 99/98 legacy GT limited soon. just wondering if there were any clearcorner lights or any other light conversions(astetics not performance bulbs) available. also, i think the newer styles started in 2000, are there large advantages in these models and or are there more aftermarket parts available?
thanks for the info.

Baron, it's gonna be had to get clear corners for 98 legacies. I tried looking, but no luck. I could've imported them, but that would've cost major $$$. Instead, I just baked them and ripped off the orange and used some cheap clear bulbs. Total cost=$2.00cdn. Another good cheap mod is to paint the orange on the rear light. Total cost=$10.00, JDM red/clear lights=$350+.
I posted some pics a couple of thread down, check it out. Compare it with the JDM rear lights. I personally think mine are WAY better for 'bang for the buck' I don't have any pics of the clear corners yet. shoot me your email and I get you some tomorrow.

1. Clear corners are cheapest done by baking your lights or buy some Morette headamps as the expensive but way nice lights option.
2. The 2nd Gen Legacy's have more of an aftermarket than the 3rd Gen, but the carch is most of the goodies are in the Homeland. The 2nd Gen Leg's do share abit more with the impreza so quite a few items can be swapped across bodystyles. Both have there pro's and con's, so get what you want and realize your gonna spend some green to get the goodies.

I performed the bake method on my '03 lights and I am extremely pleased with the results. 200 to 250 deg F for 2 minutes at a time will get the "adhesive" used to a soft state then VERY carefully apply even prying pressure from the back side of the PC front to the back ABS housing of the lens and work your way around. It took me about 2 hours to do both lights. The orange reflector just came right out. Make sure to remove as much of the original adhesive as possible. I used a GE automotive black silicone to put them back together and have had no light issues since the reassembly. I used one tube of silicone on both lights.

Because there's a little plastic reflective piece in the headlights. It looks ugly and needs to be removed. My brother wants to do the same to his '02 GT. Thanks for the helpful advice guys!
