Can someone recommend a good stereo installation shop in Portland/Vancouver? I talked to an installer at Circuit City. He said they did Subies occasionally. A deck and front door speaker install would take 3 hours while they figured things out. I'm not ruling them out, but was looking for something a little more positive. Like "sure, we do Subie's all the time, we know (and have) the spacers you need, etc." But at least he was being honest.
Also, anyone dynamatted their doors, and/or put some under their carpet? Worth the trouble? Can the install shops do that too?

The Sound Choice is where i got my stereo installed and a custom, woofer box made. Also had my truck floor redone to hold a fullsized spare. They do alot of custom work too. Give them a call at 503 452 8440. they are located on se powell just off the Ross Island bridge.

I like to support the local guys, so the shop I have gone to since high school is Mobile West (503-257-0488) on NE 122nd and San Rafael, just north of Halsey, next to Taco Bell. Talk to the owner Don, and he knows his stuff. If I remember right, he's owned a few subaru's in the past. I know he does all sorts of customs. I don't even think I've been in a car toys and I'd use caution on Circuit City. You may spend a little more at the local shops, but the service and return sales always pay off.

Talk to Ryan Noble at Car Toys in Jantzen beach. He's the best installer in Portland, and a good friend. He's done a few WRX's. He's awesome at fiberglass and making things look perfect. Check him out.

I don't live in Portland but I will say that if you can get kick panels in your car they help a lot although I hope you don't mind losing the Dead Pedal though. Also I found that removing the center clock and sticking a speaker there livens up the sound a bit. For the front doors on the new WRX it is quite likely that you will need to put spacers in and I would definately reccomend sound deadening the doors with anything whether it is Dynamat or Vblok.
