I would just buy the touch up paint....thin it out a bit, and airbrush it on....you'll probably get better results that way. Its a really cool idea though if you dont have an airbrush.

actually the touch up paint that comes with the brush from subaru may have some clearcoat stuff mixed up in to it. i was never able to get a proper color match while thinning that out and using an airbrush. Get the touch up paint from paintscratch.com instead

I got my WRB to touch up my mom's car and to paint my Ipod from there, and the JBP that i got there to paint my grille was a perfect match, i like their stuff alot.

I would also like to reccommend paintscratch.com, their kit with primer/color/clearcoat is great and quite inexpensive.

HOWEVER, do not think you can just cover up a scratch or spot-paint with it. You really have to do the entire panel that you are painting, be it door, bumper, whatever. If you try to do just part of the car, you'll see a clear difference between the old and new paint -- a difference in texture, not in color.

I painted three parts (hood scoop, mesh light covers) with the paint and they are a perfect match (no one can tell I did them myself). However, I tried to do a spot on my bumper, and the metal flakes don't line up right, nor does the clearcoat have quite the same shine. You have to do the entire piece to make it convincing.

I am thinking of redoing my side mirrors (complete sand down, primer, repaint, and clear coat). The previous owner did a pretty poor job on one side and the other is just all scratched up (pretty badly). I was thinking of fixing the bumpers as well, but I had the same thoughts, mismatch. :( I was thinking of trying to 'blend' it in a little. I look at it this way, either I leave it like the way they are, or I'll try to fix them myself. I don't think I would ever bring a car to a body shop just to fix scratches and chips. Unless someone else is paying. ;)
