New WRX Wagon Price
I was just recently quoted an out-the-door price of $23900 for a new 2005 wrx wagon with a short throw shifter and cross bar kit as the only options. This price includes a rebate. Is this a good price? How much should I try to bring the dealer down? I'm in Madison, WI if that helps.

It all depends on the market there. I have no idea how they bargain in that area. Maybe LUvikes29 could give some better info.
What is added on to the price of the car in WI? Tax, lic, doc, tire?

That price is invoice (23,900 or so) minus rebate. That's a good price here.
Anytime you can buy a car for flat invoice you are doing good.

That's a pretty good price. I paid $25k out the door for mine. But that was not end of model year...it was beginning of model year.
I hate to be a trader...but with GM's current pricing...check out the saabaru wagon. They're blowing em out for $19.2k right now. Another $1500 for leather and H.I.D's. I love my car so I'm gonna try and talk my folks into getting one of those.

Subie in WI
The Subie market in WI doesn't have overloaded demand, but that price is pretty good. I used to sell in WI, and from time to time, we'd go 500 or so below invoice, depending on how badly we needed the numbers. It is getting towards crunch time though (here is the part where I start sounding like a salesperson, giving away that I've been doing this for a while...) and if you hold out over a few hundred bucks, and they sell the car, it's going to get harder and harder for them to get you the color/options you want. Production on 05's is essentially done at this point, so selection is only going to get worse with time.
I too, at the risk of sounding like a traitor, would advise at least investigating the 9-2X. 2 weeks ago I walked my brother out of my lot and over the Saab dealer, because he got his 9-2X with more features than Subie offers, for about $2200 under the invoice for the comparable Subaru. It's not as quick, or agressive looking IMHO, but $2200 is $2200, and it also comes with 2 years free maintence (read: 4 free oil changes and a couple tire rotations....)

Well, I've been wanting a WRX wagon since they hit the shores in 2001, and jumped on the 9-2X when the rebates hit. You can spend the $2200 on mods:
just picked one up

/\ pretty damn good deal....
Kinda wish I hadn't bought my '02 used now (back in January) lost about $3000 on my trade in, the WRX had 47k on the odometer...but it is modded and runs like a champ 250awhp...
If I bought stock...it would have had to stay stock, and I'm happy anyways
But that is a hell of a good price.

My friend and I went to Big Valley Subaru and pick up 05 WRX wagon (MT) with short throw shifter and auto diming mirror/compass. He paid $21000 before tax and fees ( $500 below invoice and plus $1500 rebate). But he has to pay 5.9% loan for 24 months. He will pay off in 3 months. So he saved $2000. Do you guys think it was a good deal?
