They don't claim to be a rain tire at all anywhere. They are a high-performance summer tire that probably has the best dry grip of ANY street tire. *****ing about their rain performance is like saying R-Compounds suck in the wet.
Not yet, but I'm strongly considering them as my track/autocross tires next season. I've heard first hand accounts on them from 3 friends that run them though, and they are poor rain tires. They are OUTSTANDING dry tires... but as your primary tires, wet performance should also be considered, and I think there are plenty of better alternatives for people who don't run multiple wheel sets.Originally Posted by razorlab

Poor in the rain in autox and track settings or driving to work / around town? Originally Posted by BAN SUVS

Again, it was raining cats and dogs today. I had no problem commuting to work and back and going out and getting food. I own the tires, I drive on them, in the rain, in the dry. They work for me.
I also did a track event with them in the wet for the morning sessions. They seemed to grip just as much as any other street HP tire does in the wet. AGAIN, they are not marketed as rain tires, thats what the KDW are for. They are marketed as the best dry HP tire there is, and they are, and hey, what do you know, they actually work ok in the rain too.
Res Smurf: yes, the evo guys fit 255 on their 8" wide wheels. It doesn't mean that's the best size to mate to that width. You WILL sacrifice turn-in and stability with that wide of a tire on a 8" rim. I thought we went over this over AIM?
