Rota Subzero 17" or 16"

Which would be better ?

What kind of tires should i get ?

How much will it be ?

ImprezaRSDriver 01-31-2003 09:04 AM

I do not believe that Rota makes a 16inch subzero. I would say go with 17's if you can find them. Also, what plans do you have for your car as far as application goes. Again, price will depend on your application. Do a search and I am sure that you will find a lot of good recommendations for tires.

I have the 18's on my car, but if you dont like that I say go with the 17's...the Subzero is a sweet looking wheel...what color are you planning on going with?

I have the kumho tires on mine and I am pretty happy with them...they are a good tire for the price...

BlackDubbaUREks 02-01-2003 12:52 AM

Iam going to get Black with silver lip subzero rims. how much did the kuhmo tires cost you and what kind were they ?

will the 17's look good on stock height?

most people get the 225/45/17s on their 17" rims...

w/ stock height you will notice a gap.

its rally up to you on what look you are going for.

IMO lowring it 1-1.5 inches will do wonders for the handling and look.

What do i need to drop my car ?? And how much will it cost?

really depends...

if you are just looking for some lowering springs... you can get them from $150 - $300.

(shameless plug coming)... i can sell you some tanabe lowering spring for $135 shipped. I also have the 17" subzeros w/ black polishe dlip in stock :D

but if u wanna go for coil overs.. that can cost you up to $2000....

BlackDubbaUREks 02-01-2003 09:44 AM

Do you have a picture of your subzeros ? if you are willing to sell how much ? ?

I just dont want to be worrying about speed bumps, dips, etc.
-if i just lower it a 1.5" will it be likely that i'll be scratching up my car ?
whats the difference between the coilovers and the lowering springs ? which is better? im new at all of this so i dont know much

well i think w/ that setup you get pretty close to stock diameter.

BlackDubbaUREks 02-01-2003 09:55 AM

will that look to high. or should i lower it because my car looks like a monster truck, haha.

ImprezaRSDriver 02-01-2003 09:59 AM

Just a to remind, you that these cars are designed to run really well with the ride height. Subaru designed it that way, which is why it seems like the car is a monster truck. If you look at anyone with a full prodrive setup on the older Imprezas, you will see that the drop is minimal because they want to keep the ride height.

BlackDubbaUREks 02-01-2003 10:04 AM

but at stock height will it look to high or will it look just fine ?

it will look too high, but that is the best for handling like ImprezaRSdriver said...but I lowered my WRX for the look and I love the way it looks lowered...

ImprezaRSDriver 02-01-2003 11:34 AM

It basically comes down to how you want your car to look.
