Off offset. What do I do?
 

I just made an impulse buy for my 05 Legacy gt. I was surfing ebay and saw soom awesome rims for dirt cheap. I checked and made sure that the lug pattern was fine but I didn't even think about the offset at the time. The offset on the rims that I just purchased are 18's with a +42mm. The stock 17's that I have on my car have a 55mm offset. I'm not a wheel expert and don't know how much it will affect my car. Is it going to rub? What do I need to do to make them work? I don't want to have to resell them but I won't run them if it's going to negatively affect my car in any way. I know one of you guys out there knows what I need to do! I'd appreciate your help!

I think the stock Legacy GT rims are 52mm offset.

Nevertheless, a 42et 18" wheel may fit if it is no wider than 7.5" and you have 215mm width tires. Also, you may need to add some negative camber to the wheels and/or roll the fenders. These may fit, but it is going to be close and may require some creativity. Don't give up yet.

If the rims you bought are 7.5" or less you're fine,..
The larger the offset the better if you wanna run larger calipers though,..but you should be fine if its like I stated above,..
