Kumho ECSTA MX vs. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
I need new tires. My Brigston SO3's are about to be gone and I want something that will perform around how they did or better. So I am looking at Kumho ECSTA MX vs. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. The difference in price is the PS2 are $150 more for a set of 4 tires. Is it worth the money to go ahead and get the SP2's over the MX's? If they are some what close in performance then I figure that money will be better on some other mod but I want good tires not crap. Please help me decide which to get.

Why not get another set of S03's?
I'd say avoid the Kumho MX's. It's not a publicized or documented problem, but it seems from general consensus here that Kumho tires have inconsitent manufacturing quality from set to set. Thus, some people have gotten higher quality sets of MX's that are comparable to S03's in performance, while other folks have had MX's peel apart underneath their fenders 0_o
As for the Michelins, I can't say much about them but they ought to be pretty good tires. Let's see what the others have to say

The general concensus is that you get what you pay for.

I dont have any experience with the PS2's, but my MX's have been excellent, easily out-performing the S03's in the dry, and especially on track days. For auto-x, they are equal in grip to the Falken Azenis without the heat issues. What size of tire are you looking at?

Well last night I ordered the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 from Tire Rack. I already have them. That was fast very fast, I never get stuff that fast. Now I have to go get them put on. Thanks everyone for your help.
