bubble in tire??
 

Just noticed a bubble on the sidewall of my front right tire. I was wondering if I can fix it or do I just have to dump the tire in the trash???

I think you'll have to dump it. Which means 4 new tires for you :( The structural integrity of the tire is pretty much shot if you have a bubble.

how long have you had the tires? if they are still very new then you should go back where you bought them and start cussing... ok maybe dont cuss but complain at least they might replace it for u

i wouldnt trust banking around a tight corner with a bubble... be careful

i have had that happen, it is caused by hitting a pot hole or something else that was a strong impact and the rim actually cuts the beads on the tire cause a bulge. tire manufactors or distributors do not cover this unless you purchased the extra warrenty for the tire. so yeah you have to buy a new one. if they are pretty new or a lot of tread left you can get away with only buying one tire

What kind of tire is it, so we will all know not to buy that manufacturer of tire?

Yeah, I know. It is called a defect. I just want to know what kind of tire it was. And then not buy that kind of tire.

thats just it, its not because of a defect, it is caused by a road hazard. strong impact on a tire slightly underinflated will cause the problem, nothing to do with the quality of the tire

Yes, you are right, that is one cause. But porr manufacturing process can give you sidewall bubbled tires as well. Probably not as frequent though.

thats happened to to my tire before and i had the kuhmos but ever since ive gotten the yokohama avs es100's ive noticed a big difference in a good way:banana: :banana: :banana:

yeah they are kuhmo's got them from tire rack around december. only seen 2,000 miles

Kurlee is correct. I used to work for America's Tire Co. back in highschool. Some of the tires we would get would do that the first time we inflated them after mounting them on the wheel. Many times it is a defect, but hittin something like a curb can cause it as well. Another cause can be letting a car sit for too long with an underinflated tire.
